COACHES: JPS CERTIFICATIONS

Required by the State of Colorado, JPS Coaches MUST be Certified in the following to coach in any Tournament or League:

 

Coaching Certifications for Team Registrations for JPS Tournaments & Leagues:

(See below for WINTER LEAGUE Registration)

  • (A) MANDATORY REPORTER TRAINING: Certificate Needed for Upload to JPS: Complete the Mandatory Reporter Training, required by the State of Colorado beginning July 1, 2025. SAVE THE CERTIFICATE as a PDF. You will need this ready to upload when you complete your online Coaching Registration.
  • (B) CONCUSSION TRAINING: Certificate Needed for Upload to JPS: Complete the Concussion Training, and save the certificate as a PDF.  You will need this ready to upload when you complete your online Coaching Registration.
  • (C) ABUSE PREVENTION TRAINING: We highly recommend each coach completes an abuse prevention training course, click here to view the JPS Abuse Policy.
  • (D) BACKGROUND CHECK: as you complete the online Coaching Registration (FINAL STEP listed below), the system will ask for your SSN and full legal name and will complete a background check if you have not completed a JPS background check within the last two years. Our background check includes the Criminal History Check as required by the Safer Youth Sports Act.  Results will be sent to Jacquie Pearson of JPS to validate your certification.  No News is Good News: you will only be contacted if there is a problem.
  • FINAL STEP: COACHES REGISTRATION: Complete the online Coaching Registration by accepting Roster Invitation Email and uploading certifications, etc.
  1. After Team Registration is complete, the Coach should be entered to receive a Roster Invitation Email.
  2. Check your email for "Roster Invitation" from Just Play Sports.
  3. Log in, or Create Account on the Just Play Sports / Team Sideline Website.
  4. Select "Enroll on a Roster"
  5. Add to Cart
  6. Proceed to Checkout (no cost)
  7. Next page will ask for your personal information
  8. Complete Background Check Information
  9. Complete Program Specific Information, including Mandatory Reporter Training certificate upload and Concussion Training Certificate upload.
  10. Complete and sign all agreements included in remaining Registration Process and Submit

 

JPS WINTER LEAGUE TEAM COACHES ONLY:

(A) Winter League TEAMS REGISTERING AS A TEAM WITH NO PRACTICE TIME INCLUDED:

 If you registered a full team, practice time will not be included for your team, and registering a team will make you the "Manager" of the team.  You will still need to register as a "Coach."  

    • NOTE that this type of Team Registration DOES NOT INCLUDE JPS-PROVIDED PRACTICE TIME.  If you are planning to need / use JPS-Provided Practice Time, your team must use the "Individual Winter Registration" Process.
    • If the Manager is also a "Coach," they must list themselves as a "Coach" on the Roster, and add any other Coach(es) for the team onto the Roster.
    • Coach(es) listed by the "Manager" will receive an email with a link to register as a "Coach."  Complete the sign in / sign up process by creating an account or logging in using that link and follow the processes listed at the top of this page.

(B) Winter League TEAMS REGISTERING AS INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS SO THAT PRACTICE TIME IS INCLUDED: 

Coach(es) who did NOT register as a full team, go to the JPS Winter League Individual Registration, and click on "Register Now." This is the same link as a Player Registration.

  • STEP 1, CONFIRM: Contact Jacquie Pearson to confirm your interest in coaching and that she has you listed as the team's coach. (jacquiepearson@yahoo.com; or (303) 880-1415)

  • FINAL STEP: ENROLL IN A PROGRAM AS A VOLUNTEER: Complete the online registration:
  1. Complete the sign in / sign up process by creating an account or logging in.
  2. Under "My Account," select "Place Order"
  3. Using the drop-down next to Enrollment, change "Player" to "Volunteer."
  4. Complete the information for your Background Check submission, etc.
  5. Upload your Concussion Training Certificate and Mandatory Reporting Certificate by PDF following the directions given on that page.
  6. Agree to the Terms and Conditions of Coaching / Volunteering (check all the boxes and click "Done").
